Forehand Down the Line

World premiere September 6-8 @ the Arden in Philadelphia. Philly Fringe. Tickets available here.

Refocus your attention to just beyond the baseline. Here lies the gestural interplay of tennis’ ball people. Performing hidden, rigorous labor in professional tennis these speedsters are the support system to the efficiency of matches. This monumental dance calls attention to the subtle and off-kilter choreography of tennis’ unannounced workers. Highlighting their agility, absurdity, and queer movement this visual fantasia will shift your idea of “champion.”

Choinacky’s visual art practice is integrated into this performance with his unusual tennis ball paintings as installation and set design.
